In 2005, while the project was in its fund raising and planning phase there were no communications from management except for a couple of notes entitled “Just a Reminder”.

In June 2006 we received information on the ownership of the park.

On 9/5/06 we wrote
“..... the easternmost drain on the bottom near the middle of the pool has lost its cover and is very sharp to feet. Please replace that....... tree trimmings are being disposed of behind the Park, within 10 feet of the fence. The last time I checked owners were required to clear brush for 50 feet, but this summer during fires in the Yucca Valley area I heard it is now 250 feet. Whichever it is, it is not 10 or 20 feet. Wildfires can jump highways. A mobile home can burn down in six minutes. It took the fire department 20 minutes to arrive when the owner's transformer was flaming Friday. Therefore, fire extinguishers need to be available, and all brush needs to be removed.'

You can see that this management reply retaliated to our request for maintenance with a confused and vague re-iteration of the claim that we caused a leak and were violating rules in our (permitted) remodel of the trailer. We responded to this allegation by stating..”your claim that by removing oleanders in early May, we caused a pipe to surface and leak after late August, when we were gone the entire month ..is a chain of causation..like saying...we employed..alien beings ..to sweep.. away dirt on their way to the Integratron in Joshua Tree? Or angel wings?
For this response we received a 7 Day Notice on 9/22/06 with the, by now, ubiquitous threat of eviction and the resulting attorneys fees. (read this Notice)

Although we had frequently paid our rent late in 2005 and early 2006 without ever receiving a 3 day notice to pay rent or quit, now we received one on August 8, 2006.

In a letter dated February 14,2007 the management sent a broad brush letter about the site which ended with the ominous threat “you have flaunted your disregard for our requests for clean-up to your peril”

In a letter dated May 31, 2007 the management accused us of littering the park with legal papers, wasting water and not cleaning up after our dog.
We responded to this by pointing out that the management had themselves promoted the littering of the park, were wasting water by watering oleanders. We pointed out that management never had not made any effort to clean up after dog droppings , and we did, Because of that experience we were in a position to deny that we were to blame for this litter.
